Hey Guys,

I just wanted to add this thread . . . because to me, it appears insane!

LUX Military Antiques has just listed and then sold immediately a Waffen-SS M40 ET64 with Cover, and featuring double Runes for allegedly €30000

I have provided a few photos for the benefit of this thread, in am case the below link is deleted in the future.

https://www.lux-military-antiques.com/en/p/early-named-waffen-ss-helmet-and-cover-set-.htm

Apparently World Economies are about to Crash because of Corona Virus 🦠. . . seems like our hobby is proving to be immune 🤔

And no, I wasn’t the buyer . . . For €30000 I can buy 4 original WW2 Willys Jeeps 🤪

Michael

insane...ridiculous...outrageous...let's call it how we like the most Mike.

MAYBE....If the helmet was close to minty i could understand (being LUX) the price of the combo but ...there is way more than 30% extra

furthermore how can we be sure that cover is indeed from the same wearer of the helmet?

Yes indeed Andrea . . . especially when this actual seller has history of removing attachments and applying them to different helmets and claiming "always been there since 1945!"

Sorry . . . but for 30000 Euro . . . I'll keep my hard earned Cash thanks 💰 💰💰

Any helmet Lux militaria is selling is 30% or more overpriced. You don't need to shop there to get a good collection , some overpriced camo helmets have been sitting there over a year.

Notice how their helmets page has shrunk from +10 to 4 pages. Don't think they all sold at published price. Probably traded a bunch with other dealers to get rid of them. I see helmets they buy from forums and put 25% on top.

It's also easy to claim that it has been sold. No real proof there, just another case of trying to dictate the market prices IMO.

I'd say, nice try but goodbye 🙂

Yes that is also possible , dealers trade a lot between each other.

That site works in this way:

you "book" the piece so the site shows  "reserved" and that is automatically generated by their system. in order to be indeed confirmed and reserved at 100% ..something like 25% of the total (if i remember correctly) has to be paid within a week. I guess this rule is more or less the same for everybody (old clients or not)

But the webmaster can mark things as sold for sure Andrea when he trades them away to another dealer thus giving the indication as if it was 'SOLD' to a customer. That's the perception they want to create.

Apparently the Hartman story is false , this is posted on warrelics.

As I know the whole Hartmann group I send following Email to Lux:
Hello Lux Militaria,

just would like to Inform you that the story of the Jörg Hartmann Helmet is made up and is not true.
I am the past owner of the whole Hartmann group and know exactly what the family has given out and to who.
That was his Degen, group of photo albums, documents and a wedding statue. Nothing else has survived
from him. He died far east and his war tunic and equipment was left with him in Russia.

Further I would like to mention here for his rank and honor he got its quite unusal to put only his first name into the helmet.
Further KIA send a front helmet from Russia back to Germany is quite very unusual.
