Regimentals Fake Helmets
Fake DD SS Quist :
This must be the most ridiculous and simple fake I have seen for sale from a so-called experienced dealer in a long long while.
Nothing is real here , the paint color and orange oxidation , the dome stamp and most of all the decals. You can even see without a loupe that these are incorrect and were even described in Kelly Hick's 2004 book SS steel on the fake page.
The party shield sittig too high in the decal is a give away.
But even zooming in you can see the decal has sawtooth print edges which are evidence of modern print.
This is what the seller says : The SS decal is the standard form of decal found on Quist double decal helmets with also matching Quist national party shield.
So basically he has no knowledge on helmets as you will see further down.

FAKE LW - CKL
Here's what used to be a no decal CKL produced helmet with 5xxx lot number someone stuck a fake decal on , this decal I call the 'easy fake'. It's the most common and easy to spot Luftwaffe eagle fakes.

Fake SD Heer helmet - EF
This one has an obvious fake decal , it's not a HJ&K, not a Pocher or ET style we should see on an EF helmet.
As you can see from the close-up , digital print signs are evident. Not that you need the close-ups as this design is a documented fake. But for those not familiar with the decal designs a good loupe or portable USB microscope can help avoid costly mistakes.

These all clunkers, no doubt whatsoever.
The knowledge needs to be spread as much as we can even more than before. This hobby will collapse when the good will be mix with the bad so that the new generation of collectors wont' be able to determine whether they're buying good or bogus stuff as no one will buy anymore like happened in other fields.

For those with some spare time you can annoy the guy by commenting on his youtube video. My comment got deleted.
Frank it's just another case of someone being "Above the law" because they have a website dealing in militaria. Unfortunately for those who praise dealers, without doing research and reaching out for help or advice before they buy, they will get burned.
I wonder after watching this....does he really think or believe this SS helmet is real ? Does he not reach out for appraisals or advice before he posts a $16K helmet for sale ? Who or what convinced him this forgery was original ? I never did business with this guy, never will but I do have a friend in Australia that has bought from him. But my friend is an expert in his field, so there is no worry in regards to getting burned. God only knows how many ignorant, passive, new collectors have been taken by this guy ?
Thanks for the info. I tried to leave a comment but could not. But there are a few telling him it's a one look fake...but a few tell him "It's a beautiful SS helmet, keep up the good work !!" Again...PATHETIC

Some guy on WAF asked opinions on it and that was what highlighted it. I thought the days were gone were such obvious fakes were sold by the lets say higher profile dealers but it goes to show once the public lets its guard down the fakes crawl in their inventory again. We need much more eyes on dealers and advertise their fakes. It is missing in the forum topics for several years now. There were times dealers logged in on GHW to apologise when a topic of one of their fakes was posted.
The sad thing is that he sought out this helmet to purchase it.
Sat thru the You Tube video . . . He first states that he’s a Control freak . . . Then that he secured a nice FS Knife which he sold to a friend and made a “real good profit” (some friend)
And now all he cares about is the fake “tasty” SS and that he can get kudos by having it on his website.
