Luftwaffe Q64 DN173 single decal doubts

Hi all,

I could trade following helmet for some of my items with a friend. I like the helmet and from the database I understand there should be a decal on the helmet.

From the website I gather Quist helmets might come with the ET or Q style decal. But I dont have an eye for it and the more I look the more confused I get, to the point that I am not even sure it is either of the two.

So two questions: is the decal correct from what you see on the pictures (helmet is not actually green and there is no paint on the left wing)? and if so which type of eagle is it and where are some key differences?

Thanks in advance!

The helmet looks fine to me.  It has the standard and most common dot wing ET style LW 2nd pattern decal.  I assume it is a Quist?  Nice looking helmet, inside and out.

Cheers,

Terry

A solid looking helmet. As long as the trade is fair, go for it!

Yes it is a Quist 64 DN173. The trade is fair and great to get confirmation 😅 that really helps as I like this helmet a lot.

Hi Terry,

I read the expression dot wing more often and wonder which dot on the wing it refers to?

I don't have the right program on my pictures to be able to draw a circle on a picture but here is a quick snap of a page from the Ken N helmet decal book which shows the dot.

Cheers,

Terry

Yes, but I have to be patient the helmet is on its way from the US to Europe and I don’t know how long it will take this time as some of the packages from the US were on their way for 90-110 days during corona. Funny enough the other way around shipping times averaged 2-3 weeks. 😅 pony cart and sailing boats come to mind.

Looks a lot like the one my friend Zach was selling on Facebook.
