Below you will find the most common decal types found on Luftwaffe combat helmets. Other more obscure types exist and I will add them when I have an example I can show.
Straight leg version also referred to as a droop tail eagle
- Only found on M35 helmets and only observed on helmets from SE , Q and ET.

Snake leg version also referred to as a droop tail eagle
- Only found on M35 helmets and only observed on helmets from SE , Q and ET.

ET Style
- Found on SE/hkp , ET/ckl and Q helmets.

Q type
- Exclusively on Quist helmets


EF type
- Exclusively on EF helmets


NS type
- Exclusively on NS helmets
- Left decal sits on an M35 , the right on an M42


Peiniger decal
- This decal is only observed on reissued helmets. M35’s and transitional helmets.
- The Peiniger decal is often misprinted as can be seen below

Green LW adler
- Believed to have been made to replace the white eagles as they were more camouflaged
- They were never mass produced and are rarely seen on helmets
- Also exists in a blue version
