The helmets on this page were worn by the members of the Airfield fire brigades , adminstratively managed by the Reich aviation ministry but incorporating members of the Wehrmacht , civilians and professional firefighters. Depending on the size of the facility a fire protection group would consist of 14 to 18 men.
