Hi all. I think everything is good with this one but just wanted a second opinion. Owner of the property is running a small estate sale, they told me these items were bring backs by their grandfather who served with Patton and they are not collectors, so they are getting rid of them. You may remember the one I posted awhile ago that was a period repaint with a matte finish. I don't need a second fire police but if the price is reasonable it might be worth picking up. If anyone is looking for one I could put you in contact with them. Sorry for the poor photos but that's all they could send me. Thanks!

The thing is with these estate sales is lack of knowledge by the seller. Many times they think these things are worth a fortune. But sometimes you get lucky.
Last year I bought 4 shipped home ammo crates filled with stuff. Most was junk, some was "ok". nothing spectacular. they wanted a huge amount of $$ and thought my offer was insulting. I spent an hour talking through each piece and the value. In the end they took my offer but weren't pleased.

Thanks MAP. Owner is not a collector. As previously mentioned, her grandfather was a tech sergeant in radio and communication and these were all bring backs by him. The K98 is an Elite Diamant 1939 and the frog is a 1935 Richard A. Herder, Solingen. Condition seems pretty good, minor wear on the upper guard of the bayonet so there's some rust obstructing part of one waffenamt. Haven't seen an ED with an "f" code however. They also have a double sided party flag with minor wear and original rope at one end about 88x41. There's that Luftwaffe visor cockade which is cheap. That other bayonet I have no idea about. A few random original photos in Germany, some of places some with troops. Good Conduct Medal, European-African-Middle-Eastern medal with one star, WWII Victory Medal, expert badge with machine gun and rifle, all with their ribbons and ribbon bars, in strikingly good condition. They threw out $2,000 and I felt that was way out of the ball park. They'd like to sell the whole set together but they'd break it up if they had to. I'm really only interested in the armband, party flag, US medals, photos and the Mein Kampf.
I did take time to explain to them the value of certain items because they sent me random sites with similar items and I was like I will make you a fair offer but I am not paying retail prices.

Certainly a high price if it is all that you listed IMHO.
The book is interesting. A late edition so probably not much value other then sentimental. But I like the inscription. My son's name is George (we called him Georgie as a baby)....so it could have been me sending it to him! LoL

If you don't want the Helmet the and other accoutrements ... I say ...why bother? Unless its some big money making proposition which it doesnt seem to be. Just my 2¢. Seems like more of a hassle than a reward but what do I know.

Well in the spirit of keeping this not too far off track I would like a few other items and I already have a firepolizei so I just don't know what I'd do with it.

At the asking price, there is no profit to be made (or even break even) on the helmet.
The US awards combined are not worth more than $100 (if that). The rest are guesses but the Bayo? Maybe $200?. The Flag? $200 (these party flags are all over the place and don't command big money). The belt/Buckle? $200ish....The helmet? $300?
So all in...just on these estimates, $1k would be closer to reality and buying in bulk is usually discounted on top of that.
