Fake alert : Ulric of England

Quote

Here's a dealer I heard being quoted on a forum as :

- Seller is correct even if he's direct with customers. Generally provinding with some scarce items

- at least all dealers experience fakes a day in their life.

Problem is his inventory is mostly made up of fakes , particularly SS helmets but also many many other.

He also works with what he calls provenance letters which of course mean nothing if the helmets are fake.

Provenance: Signed document from the consigner confirming how the helmet was acquired in in 2005.

Provenance: A letter from the consigner states how they acquired the helmet in the late 1970s / early 1980s.

Here he is selling an ET SS fake which has a similar lot number as authentic SS helmets.

Notes: This helmet is detailed on page 137 of Brian Ice's publication on German steel helmets. Helmet with numbering 'ET 68' and '801' being listed as a single decal Waffen-SS helmet. A copy of the relevant pages included in the sale. Additionally a copy taken from Kelly Hick's website showing a similar 'canted' decal SS M40 single decal helmet. This helmet with batch number '842'.

Additional notes: A part of a collection of SS helmets being disposed of through ULRIC of ENGLAND. This helmet purchased by the consigner in the early 1980s and remaining in their collection until now.
