I just bought a helmet for fun, it was painted with some silver paint, removed that, a thick black paint underneath that, I got to the green paint. Found the markings SE64, but the "E" looked like it had a bad indentation in the steel. Found the lot number, but almost unreadable, seems it start with a 4.. maybe 435? 433? But maybe it could be 4 digits, difficult to say. The are no leather attached to the lining, but on the outside of the lining reads "B&C BERLIN 1940" with one D ring, and with the other D ring its stamped "64.A./57" On the inner side it reads "64/57". And all 3 rivets or lining pins if you will are marked on the inside of one pin with "BUC 40" And under on the helmets left side (if you are wearing it) Under the paint I can see outlining of a decal, but none on the right side. What are your thoughts on this? I'm just interested to learn, this is a worthless helmet, but a bit interesting to me. And excuse my English, I'm Norwegian, do not hold it against me.
