M40 Quist 64 SD Heer.

This is one I haven’t shown yet and I’d be interested in your views. It’s an M40 Heer SD Quist 64. The lot No. is DN 303.
Liner is by B&C and is dated 1943. It’s a little tatty now but it’s all there along with (I think) the original string. At one point it’s been named to the liner but it’s pretty illegible now. The split pins and washers are untouched and all 3 pins are super tight.
It has a fair amount of the 40 spec thick textured paint remaining but the paint and decal have seen plenty of wear. The paint to the inside seems smoother than that on the outside.
The numbers to the shell are lightly stamped and a previous owner (not me, I promise) has scraped away the thick paint to reveal them. It’s a shame but it can’t be undone now.
It has original chin strap with RB Nr 0/0390/0204. The strap has been treated by the previous owner making it a bit greasy feeling. Fortunately he didn’t treat the liner.
It’s not the best helmet I have but I like it a lot and, apart from the treatment to the strap and the scraping away of the paint around the numbers, it seems to be un-messed with in the intervening years.
I'd be interested in your views/ comments.

Looks like a nice German helmet to me bro except the wanker who tore off the paint looking for Lot numbers. Paint looks a tad dark in the wider shore but I think it’s just the lighting there. Looks correct in the closeups. Thanks for sharing. M40 Heers are the german battle helmet IMO

Agree about the removed paint, but it happens.
What device are you using to take the photos? I put together a quick little video tutorial on how I do my photo editing that you might find helpful. It shows lightening of shadows, cleaning up background imperfections etc. Let me know if you're interested and I can e-mail it to you since I don't think video is supported here.

So I'm doing my shooting on an iPhone 12 Pro so I can do all my editing on my device. Yours will require uploading to a computer, but can achieve the same effect with a little more work. Drop your e-mail and I'll send over what I have!
