There is something about this helmet that is giving off "Bad vibes" to me. Granted it looks very nice, something...maybe the liner (though original), pins, small kinks in the steel band, uncommon split pin heads for an NS M40 that is making me feel a bit negative. Not sure what it is.

Others might feel differently than I do.

Thanks, D

Hi Roland - Hope you are well.  It looks nice!  Too nice if you know what I mean? (wink)

Just kidding ....it looks like a really great shape M40 to me.  Interesting that the liner has a double size stamp on it done in error I assume ... It should be a 56? if the Helmet is a size 64 I believe. It also has a very tinfoil-y looking Pocher decal I believe.  Cannot confirm if it is indeed correct....it seems to be ... The head looks a little different but well see what the 'sperts say. Assuming all is in check .... this would be a nice one for your collection

••• Another Note - maker stamps are very light.  Unfamiliar w NS usual stamping procedures so maybe someone will weigh in.

•• PS David and I were typing at same time.  Defer to his vibes no doubt.

I like this one except for the strap.

Dark pics make it weird.

At first i thought the paint was freshened up, no patina or halos..then i realized it has been very well cleaned. see inside "zero" dust whatosoever.

I have seen this helmet already in the past.

Those pins are a question mark. At least the band and the liner belong to each other, both are Schuberth Werk.

Frank what don't you like about the strap ? it's a C. BUDISCHOWSKY WIEN maybe 1940
