WEHRMACHT HEER NS64, LOT NO. D138 SINGLE DECAL HELMET
Quote from rolandsfpr on June 5, 2020, 11:05 pmQuote from sysyphus on June 5, 2020, 10:04 pmDark pics make it weird.
At first i thought the paint was freshened up, no patina or halos..then i realized it has been very well cleaned. see inside "zero" dust whatosoever.
I have seen this helmet already in the past.
Those pins are a question mark. At least the band and the liner belong to each other, both are Schuberth Werk.
Frank what don't you like about the strap ? it's a C. BUDISCHOWSKY WIEN maybe 1940
Thank you for looking indeed that is C.Budischowsky Wien its in the dealers info added to helmet!

Quote from Panzerheld on June 5, 2020, 11:54 pmOk, I’ll add my two cents worth here.
Most collectors have a “comfort level” that, with help from the experienced guys, what level of comfort do you feel with a particular Helmet.
I agree with David and Andrea, this one appears odd, heavily cleaned and as you rightly said, too fresh.
Now, if M42 Single Decal Heer helmets were rare and difficult to find, then maybe this is one you grab “just in case” you never find another and you can live with the doubt.
But we al know that M42 SD Heers are seriously easy to find and then the choice comes down to just how desperate you are to own this particular helmet.
In my humble opinion, This is one I’d pass on as it doesn’t feel “untouched since 1945”

Thank you Michael for your time and advice, this particular helmet is one of the best helmets I have ever find surfing trough ethernet, usually helmets in condition like this quickly disappear from dealers I just seen sold and sold and again sold so that why when I found his one I felt like big fortune but from other side my character always says do your homework(study and ask more experienced ladies and gents theyr opinions which for me is like gold)also I have noticed that I would better get helmet from on of you than waste my money on beautiful helmet which later will possibly have issues, even I dont know you guys and girls but would consider to trust you more than dealers!

Nice, humble approach to collecting. This hobby can be expensive, so I understand that for many of us budget and price is a priority.
At the start of our helmet collecting journeys, the urge to buy every helmet that we see is consuming. I know, I felt the same way, like a kid in a sweet shop. Being told you can only have one chocolate bar, but wanting to eat the shop.
This helmet, other than the chinstrap, could be a good helmet. But it has already raised some issues - If you buy this one, these issues will stay in your mind until you decide to sell it. Then those same issues could limit your chances of a sale or getting your hard earned money back.
I would wait for a better example to come along, it will - most probably when you least expect it.
